Louisville basketball is the most important sport in the university's athletic department. It has long been a top revenue-earner in the sport, even challenging NBA franchises. UofL has an NBA-level arena in the KFC Yum! Center, boasting a 22,000+ seat arena. Louisville has cemented itself into college basketball royalty, having won 3 national championships, but has experienced a downwards spiral in the last decade. However, Louisville Coach, Pat Kelsey, fresh off the heels of a 27 win season, ACC Championship Appearance, and NCAA Tournament (its first since 2019), the Cards are primed and ready to return to their throne at the mountaintop of the sport.
