Louisville basketball is the most important sport in the university's athletic department. It has long been a top revenue-earner in the sport, even challenging NBA franchises. UofL has an NBA-level arena in the KFC Yum! Center, boasting a 22,000+ seat arena. Louisville has cemented itself into college basketball royalty, but has experienced a downwards spiral in the last decade. There is palpable buzz surrounding the new Pat Kelsey regime, but it's unsure whether or not he can or will be successful with the Cardinals.
Louisville is much less of a powerhouse than its counterpart on the court.
